King penguins and their brown chicks, gentoos coming out of the surf, Magellanic penguins in their burrows, elephant seals, and Stanley along its harbour. The pictures below were gathered with the Falkland Islands wildlife tours.

Most of the set is wildlife, because that is what most visitors come for. The kings are the tall ones with the orange ear patch; the gentoos have the orange bill and the white band over the head; the Magellanic penguins have the black band across the chest and nest underground.

The beaches are the other half of it. The white sand and turquoise water surprise first-time visitors, and so does the wind that comes with them. You will want a warm layer on the brightest day.

The last frames are Stanley itself: Christ Church Cathedral and its Whalebone Arch, the Liberation Memorial on Ross Road, the wreck of the Lady Elizabeth in the harbour and Cape Pembroke Lighthouse. All of them are on or near the route of the short tours.
